The T-34-85 is the service designation for the final and most mass-produced variant of the Soviet T-34 medium tank, equipped with an 85 mm caliber gun. It was officially adopted into service by the Red Army under State Defense Committee (GKO) Resolution No. 5021 on January 23, 1944.
It was designed based on the production model of the T-34 tank from 1942. The installation of the 85 mm gun, combined with various structural modifications, significantly enhanced the combat effectiveness of the T-34-85 compared to the T-34-76.
