@tosolini the only issue with the 360 camera is it's really hard to add depth without creating seams, since it's a digital render I was able to add "seamless" depth for VR / red-cyan viewing.
@joey_wittmann Wow, what a nice experiment of 360 video conversion from a 3DGS. I don't have any additional models of the town of Trogir other than what has been published already. Thanks for this test. I assume that capturing the 360 video directly from a 360 camera, might have been easier. But this is an interesting experiment.
I rendered out a virtual 3D 360 walkthrough of this splat using Blender 3D. Best to try it out in a quest 3 / vision pro for best results. Took a little under 2 weeks at 8k for the 3 mins of content on a 5080, I might make higher effort one that stitches your other 2 splats of this general vicinity together and actually cover the entirety of the captured space, are there any others coming before I do? https://youtu.be/0YXgV2S0Yos
Viewing this with a VR headset is amazing. There are a few locations local to me that I'm going to scan for this site. Have used Scaniverse in the past.
@vikimedia This was a 17 mins scan, walking alleys back and forth to get clearer footage. Not sure how big the area was. I just used the PortalCam in one take, without Map Fusion.
