This Gaussian Splatting capture showcases a large-scale scan of Lourmarin, a historic village in the south of France.
With this project, the goal was to push the limits of capture.
Nearly one third of the village center was scanned, including its narrow streets, typical Provençal architecture, cafés, and the main square where locals gather and play pétanque.
Lourmarin is known as one of the most beautiful villages in Provence, with roots dating back to medieval times and a rich cultural heritage.
Its Renaissance castle and its long-standing artistic and intellectual history contribute to its unique atmosphere.
The result allows free exploration of the scanned area, offering a realistic perception of the village’s layout, atmosphere, and architectural details.
This type of scan can serve multiple purposes, from immersive exploration to urban planning support and long-term visual documentation.

Ce Gaussian Splatting présente un scan à grande échelle du village de Lourmarin, situé dans le sud de la France.
Avec ce projet, l’objectif était de repousser les limites de captation.
Près d’un tiers du centre du village a été scanné, incluant ses ruelles étroites, son architecture provençale typique, ses cafés et sa place centrale où l’on joue à la pétanque.
Lourmarin est reconnu comme l’un des plus beaux villages de Provence, avec des origines remontant au Moyen Âge et un riche patrimoine culturel. Son château Renaissance ainsi que son histoire liée aux artistes et aux intellectuels participent à son identité unique.
Le résultat permet une exploration libre de la zone scannée, offrant une perception réaliste de l’organisation du village, de son ambiance et de ses détails architecturaux.
Ce type de scan peut servir à la fois à l’exploration immersive, à des usages liés à l’urbanisme ou encore à la conservation d’une trace visuelle dans le temps.
