Gexian Platform is a famous scenic overlook in Moon Bay Mountain Park, Meiling, Nanchang. It sits at an altitude of about 425 meters.
Legend says Ge Hong, a great Taoist scholar and alchemist of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, once lived, collected herbs and refined elixirs here. That is how this place got its name.
Standing on the terrace, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view. To the north stretch rolling mountains of Meiling. To the south lies the whole city of Nanchang. It is a popular spot for hiking, watching sunrise and sunset, and admiring sea of clouds.
The hiking loop starts from Moon Bay parking lot. The trail is free of charge, while the nearby glass skybridge requires a separate ticket. The route has some steep slopes, so hikers need to prepare water and wear proper shoes.
