In the Victoria House of the Kiel Botanical Garden, tropical aquatic plants are displayed alongside an essential ecological unit: coastal-stabilising mangroves. Furthermore, this conservatory houses economically significant crops such as the coconut palm, sugar cane (alongside the sugar palm), rice, papayas, taro, and tamarind, among others.
