Today I’m sharing something you probably won’t see anywhere else. I remembered this video and decided to run it through LFS. At the time, I was in Lithuania working as a Google Street View driver, and I came across this strange property.

The unique ensemble of sculptures by the folk sculptor Pranas Sederevičius is the only example of primitive folk art of its kind in Lithuania. In these massive sculptures, made of cement, the self-taught sculptor immortalized his heroes: Vytautas the Great, Vincas Kudirka, U.S. Vice President Kennedy, the aviators Darius and Girėnas, Juozas Tumas-Vaižgantas, and others. The sculptor was fascinated by horses, so a massive Pegasus made of cement sprang up in the center of the yard, and other heroes were also mounted on horses. While sculpting a horse from cement in his yard, Sederevičius would keep a borrowed animal there for three days. He would feed it, stroke it, admire it, and create the sculpture. People say that embedded in the sculpture of the largest horse is a BMW motorcycle with a trailer that burned down many years ago on a farmstead: the trailer is in the horse’s belly, while all the other parts were used in other sections of the concrete horse. Pranas Sederevičius, who created these massive concrete sculptures, is no longer with us. Now, the Vizbarai, local teachers, live in Sederevičius’s house. They don’t mind that tourists are constantly milling about the sculptures in the yard. The new owners occasionally go out into the yard themselves to tell visitors about the sculptures and their creator.
