Rough first pass at a 3D Gaussian Splat (3DGS) reconstruction of the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) in Doha, Qatar. The source footage wasn’t originally captured for 3DGS—this is more of an exploration in repurposing existing aerial assets from a 2023 shoot. I extracted ~800 sharp frames, aligned them in RealityScan, and generated the 3DGS using LFS. This version is straight out of LFS with no cleanup. Currently working on a V2 with more frames and improved coverage.
