Anyi Ancient Village Cluster is located at the southern foot of Xishan Mountain in Shibi Town, Anyi County, Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, around 60 km from downtown Nanchang. It is a **National 4A-level Tourist Attraction and China’s Historic and Cultural Village**.
The cluster comprises three villages: Luotian, Shuinan and Jingtai, arranged in a triangular pattern, covering an area of about 3 square kilometers. With a history of over 1,400 years, it stands as an outstanding example of the integration of Gan Culture and Gan Merchant Culture.
More than one hundred well-preserved Gan-style buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties scatter across the site. Must-see highlights include the Shidaifu Residence, Ladies’ Tower, ancient opera stage, Huang Clan Ancestral Hall, thousand-year-old camphor tree, stone archway and granite-paved old lanes. Exquisite wood, brick and stone carvings, such as the famous Hundred Blessings Mural, are widely admired. Retaining the original layout of an ancient settlement, the village perfectly embodies farming civilization and Gan merchants’ residential traditions, serving as a living fossil for studying ancient Jiangnan village architecture and folk customs.
