The ruin in the western part of the Polish Aviation Museum in Kraków is what remains of the first hangar built at the Rakowice-Czyżyny airfield as part of the interwar modernization. It was a unique structure, the only two-nave hangar of reinforced concrete construction, put into use in 1925. Due to the high construction costs, the subsequent hangars were built as single-nave steel structures. The surviving fragment is a side annex of the concrete hangar. The building, like the other structures at the airfield, was destroyed by the retreating Germans in January 1945. The museum currently has no plans to rebuild it, as it would be a very costly investment.
