This was taken on the last day the Smithsonian Castle in Washington DC was still open to the public as part of the recent 'America 250' celebrations.
It is now closed to the public in order to complete its extensive renovations, and will be reopened sometime in 2031. It will be interesting to see what the finished result will be. Until then, here is the main / common area.
