Seem kirke is first mentioned in the Ribe Oldemoder in the mid-14th century. The church, dedicated to Saint Andrew, consists of an apse, chancel, and nave dating from the early 13th century, as well as a tower from around 1500. It also had a porch from approximately the same period. This was demolished in 1900–1901 during a major restoration of the church led by architect Hector F. Estrup, which left the church primarily constructed in brick. Since ancient times, the church has had a lead roof and appears unwhitewashed on the exterior.
