Vila je kasneje menjavala lastnike. Pred prvo svetovno vojno je bila vila preurejena v hotel, v kateri je bila leta 1913 odprta prva igralnica na tem območju. Vilo so porušili v začetku sedemdesetih let, ko so na istem mestu zgradili hotel Metropol.
The portal of the former Villa San Lorenzo, which stood on the site of the present-day Hotel Metropol in Portorož. It was built around 1830 by the de Fabris family of marquises, who had moved to Piran from Begliano in Friuli during the 18th century. Giuseppe de Fabris served as the *podestà*—or mayor—of Piran in 1839. The villa subsequently changed hands; prior to World War I, it was converted into a hotel, and in 1913, the first casino in the area opened there. The villa was demolished in the early 1970s to make way for the construction of Hotel Metropol on the same site.
