The Bada Shanren Memorial Hall is located in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province. It was built in memory of Zhu Da, a great painter and calligrapher of the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, who used the art name Bada Shanren.
The memorial hall sits at the historic site of Qingyunpu, an ancient Taoist temple. It displays his paintings, calligraphy works and related cultural relics. Bada Shanren’s art features free brushwork and strong personal emotions, making him one of the most influential Chinese ink painters.
