@Simonbethke ...man, you misunderstood something here - this is LOD3!!! The high quality version has 50MSplats and could never run over web :) Honestly I find the price is more than fair for what it is, but of course everybody has to weight that on his own.

We already wrote about this. I think this result is mostly underwhelming. The quality is consistent but the level of detail is far from what I would expect at this pricepoint. On the good side is, that this fact keeps creating high quality splats a form of art - which I know you master too @schindelar (when putting away this toy-camera) :D

@epigraph Well this was really a worst case scenario for the portalcam. Lensflares due to direct sunlight, tourists passing by, slight wind, very samll and intricate details from the plants... I havn't been fair ;) But I mean that's what you do when hardcore testing. All in all I think the result is absolutely ok for what it is (and for the price!!)

The amount of detail is almost too harsh on the eyes. Impressive results! Biggest problem areas I see are the purple halos in the trees, but probably could resolve out with more surrounding coverage. Cool to see early results of the new PortalCam. Thank you for sharing.

@mvaligursky Yes, I know and I'm already aligned with Donovan ;) The most dense version of this scan comes with 37MSplats. Several LODs available

Just curious here, are you able to generate even larger / more detailed splat scene from this data set? We (PlayCanvas team) are just working on a streaming tech for this, and so I wonder about possibilities here.
