This splat demonstrates the ability of COLMAP Bridge to translate emissive and translucent VDB volumes into the Gaussian domain. Capturing a nebula is the ultimate test for volumetric reconstruction: the bridge successfully preserves density gradients and its high complexity. This allows you to render assets in real time with a large amount of size and calculation time! This splat was created using the COLMAP Bridge plugin, a direct export tool between Cinema4D and COLMAP. By bypassing the traditional, often unpredictable SfM (Structure from Motion) process, the bridge transforms raw 3D data into perfect reconstruction data. This tool ensures mathematical consistency between the original scene and the Gaussian splatting, thus ensuring high accuracy and fidelity.
