The Silver Filigree White-Robed Guanyin is a national intangible cultural heritage treasure created by master craftsman Cheng Shumei, collected by the National Arts and Crafts Museum (China Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum). It won the First Prize for Excellent Creation and Design at the National Arts and Crafts Hundred Flowers Award in 1989. Crafted from pure silver using core filigree inlay techniques—pinching, filling, assembling, and soldering—the 56cm-tall work boasts balanced proportions. The Guanyin (Bodhisattva of Compassion) has a serene face, surrounded by a four-layer filigree halo of interlocking lotus vines, holding a pure water bottle and willow branch, standing solemnly on a lotus throne. Its silk-like robe, crafted with 0.1mm fine chiseled texture, exudes a flowing elegance. This masterpiece embodies the essence of imperial filigree craftsmanship, blending religious iconography with traditional artistry.
