For this project I used a Sony A7R V with a macro lens and extension tube, pushing the magnification factor to the limit. Because of the extremely shallow depth of field in macro photography, focus stacking was mandatory. Photos were taken every 15° in rotation, and at frontal angles of 45°, 30° and 20° For each orientation, 30–40 images were required for focus stacking In total, this amounted to more than 5,000 RAW photos at 60 MP, processed into 16-bit TIFFs and stacked before 3D reconstruction
